Looks great on an adult too.I did a lot of research on line to find a locket that did not cost to much and had a strong enough chain, this one was one of the best I've seen.Room for two pictures.Pictures go behind two heart shape clear plastic inserts.Remove with point of a pin, keep safe they are easily lost.Scan picture on computer, crop face with heart shape crop tool then resize to fit locket opening.Practice makes perfect.Snap in plastic heart cover over picture.Comes with a beautiful blue velvet box.Made a big hit with everyone. especially the girls.A really great buy. So pretty.

(More customer reviews)I was disappointed in this, but I am still giving it 3 stars because my daughter loves it. It is a very white, flat, cheap looking plastic (on my screen the seller photo looks off-white, but my daughter's furniture is off white and this is almost clashing because it is pure white).
The decoration is nothing more than a sticker that has been applied to the plastic.Every time she touches it I wonder if it is going to break.
The inside is nicer looking than the outside.
On a positive note my 4.5 year old loves this and took it to her room right away to organize her "jewels".It keeps them nicely.
This is WAY over priced for what you get!I would not buy it again and look for a nicer box.I will try and add a photo of this soon to show what I am talking about.

(More customer reviews)This is a beautiful jewlery box; one of the best I've seen.Good musical jewelry boxes are difficult to find these days, especially for a child.

I hemmed and hawed over buying this and one of the ones made of re-enforced cardboard or plastic, but my decision became easy when I saw some of the 'cheaply' made ones at a couple of toy stores nearby.This Lenox product was an excellent buy: metal, nice velour innards, sturdy ballerina and hinges.I'm considering buying one for my teen daughter and engraving her name on it.

My niece (5 yrs old) had received 4 ballerina jewelry boxes for Christmas, so she wasn't as thrilled with getting another when she unwrapped the one from me.My sister was thrilled though.She said she will keep the box for my niece until the others (plastic and paper) break, which won't take too long.LOL
