(More customer reviews)I bought this locket for my mother for Christmas. She loves it and it is very beautiful. I decided to put pictures in it before I gave it to her and this proved to be a difficult task. The locket is difficult to open without warping the clasp and even more difficult to insert pictures into. Maybe there is a trick to it that I wasn't aware of, but this the first and last locket I will purchase. I had to remove the clear plastic photo shield on the front cover with a needle before inserting the first photo. I scratched the clear shield so much that I just threw it out. Inserting the photos in the middle piece was a little easier, but I just gave up on the back photo and left it empty for her. The locket is definitely beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with very little patience.

(More customer reviews)I received this "locket" in the mail yesterday.It is teeny-tiny and gold filled.I believe I paid$55.00 + shipping for a piece of cheesy costume jewelry, that used to be available in a Five & Ten store.I was hoping this gift would become an heirloomthat she could pass down to her own little girl.I am afraid it is a piece of junk.It would behoove the vender to say in the ad that it is gold filled.The locket is so miniscule that I can't imagine any photo or piece of a photo fitting in it. Quel dommage!!!

and it fit perfectly. She just glued it in with regular school glue and it turned out perfect!She often wears the locket with another little pendant on the same chain.I was surprized at how cheap it was because it was sterling silver.

Children's Silver Heart Locket Necklace Review

(More customer reviews)I should've known better that this necklace would most likely have problems after finding that most lockets were much more expensive. It's pretty much junk. The gold plating wore off on one in two days; it wore off the other in about two weeks. The cheap chain broke on one of them within the first day although neither of my children were being rough. I think the little one was merely taking her shirt off and the clasp broke. She was heartbroken. It's extremely difficult to insert pictures and those that we were able to fit in there fell out within a day. Perhaps you have to be more adept with scissors but I thought we had done a pretty good job.

There is another seller that offers what looks like the same necklace for much cheaper. It was rated extremely poorly. I went with this seller as I thought that perhaps the other seller was just trying to pull a fast one, offering a knock-off version. It doesn't look like there really is a difference between the two (my experiences pretty much mirror the other, cheaper necklace's reviewer) and that it is merely the manufacturer of this product that should be held accountable.

If you really would like a locket for your child, wait til they're a little older and can take care of their jewelry, bite the bullet and get the more expensive one. I know I will.
